Swashbuckler
If I’d a known what was coming I’d have changed the title into something even more indirect. Either way I’m pretty sure a good part of the population doesn’t read. I’m told you gotta work hard to grab people’s attention in 2 seconds or less. I think a three syllable word should work.
So there I was telling a story, a true one, and the look on her face went from interest to disbelief to contempt in under a minute. If I hadn’t experienced it, I wouldn’t have believed it was possible. I began to judge the beautiful experience being shared then suddenly stopped talking mid-sentence and stared at her without saying a word.
I’ve learned only about three types of silence so suspect there are more. Hers was the one flanked by disgust and mine was the one saddled with confusion. The last is a nicker but disappears with a neigh.
